Every milestone matters. Every step counts.

Every baby deserves the best possible start in life. I am Angie Rotner, MPT, owner of Tiny Steps. My approach goes beyond supporting your baby's physical growth. I'm here to equip and encourage you with the knowledge and tools to confidently nurture your child's development at every stage. Together, we'll help your little one take those important tiny steps toward a lifetime of confident movement.

How I Can Help
Offering Concierge In-Home and Virtual Appointments, I provide early physical therapy for infants from birth to walking.
From Delivery
Providing expert care for infants who experienced difficult deliveries, breech presentations, birth trauma, premature birth, or genetic conditions that may affect movement and positioning. My gentle approach helps address any physical challenges and promotes optimal healing and development for babies with complex medical histories.
Motor Development
Supporting babies who may be delayed in reaching milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking. I create individualized treatment plans using play-based activities to strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and help your baby achieve their developmental goals at their own pace.
Head Shape
Addressing concerns like flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly), torticollis, and asymmetrical head positioning. My specialized techniques help improve neck mobility, encourage symmetrical movement, and support healthy head shape development through targeted exercises and positioning strategies.
Muscle Tone
Addressing both low muscle tone (hypotonia) that causes floppiness and high muscle tone (hypertonia) that creates stiffness. Through targeted exercises and techniques, I help improve muscle strength, flexibility, and overall movement quality for better functional abilities.
11 Reasons to Seek Infant Physical Therapy
Flat head syndrome and neck muscle tightness (torticollis) can limit your baby's ability to move their head freely and explore their environment fully. Early physical therapy intervention helps stretch tight muscles, improve neck mobility, and teach positioning strategies that promote symmetrical head shape development and balanced movement patterns.
Babies who frequently arch their backs, spit up excessively, or seem uncomfortable during feeding may benefit from physical therapy techniques that address positioning, core strength, and movement patterns. My approach helps improve comfort during feeding and daily activities while supporting healthy digestive positioning and reducing excessive arching behaviors.
When babies aren't reaching age-appropriate milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking within expected timeframes, early intervention can make a significant difference. My targeted approach identifies underlying challenges and uses play-based activities to strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and help your baby progress through developmental stages at their own pace.
Babies with muscle tone issues—whether too low (causing floppiness) or too high (causing stiffness)—can benefit greatly from specialized physical therapy techniques that help normalize tone and improve functional movement. Early intervention helps optimize muscle function, enhance stability, and support your baby's ability to reach important developmental milestones.
Birth complications can sometimes cause temporary muscle imbalances, joint restrictions, or positioning preferences that may impact your baby's natural movement development. Early physical therapy evaluation helps identify and address these effects quickly, ensuring optimal recovery and preventing potential long-term movement challenges from developing.
Premature babies often miss crucial in-utero development time that affects their muscle strength, coordination, and motor skills. Early physical therapy intervention helps bridge this developmental gap, providing targeted support to strengthen muscles and enhance movement patterns that would have naturally developed in the womb.
Balance and coordination challenges in infants can impact their ability to safely explore their environment and progress through important motor milestones like sitting and walking. Early physical therapy helps develop core strength, improve stability, and enhance coordination skills that form the foundation for confident movement and exploration.
Babies who consistently favor one side of their body or show uneven use of their arms and legs during play may have underlying muscle imbalances or movement restrictions that benefit from early intervention. Physical therapy helps identify the root cause and promotes symmetrical movement patterns to support balanced development and prevent future complications.
Babies with genetic conditions like Down Syndrome often have low muscle tone (hypotonia) that affects their ability to reach motor milestones and develop strength. Early physical therapy intervention helps strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and support optimal development during these crucial early months.
Babies with neurological conditions like cerebral palsy or spina bifida benefit significantly from early physical therapy intervention to optimize movement patterns and prevent secondary complications. My specialized approach helps maximize your baby's motor potential while supporting overall development and quality of life from the earliest stages.

Getting to work with Angie was a dream! She was such an integral support for our family for the 2.5 years after we brought home our 4 mo old preemies. She connected well with me, being a wonderful source of calm through the crazy of little ones, and she quickly proved she knew what she was talking about professionally. She helped me be an advocate for my children and always came with recommendations for what was coming next. She’s a big factor why you can’t tell my 3 yr olds were 29 weekers, and I’m very, very grateful for having gotten to work with her.

Angie has been working with my daughter since she was 8 months old, and the progress has been amazing- she went from not being able to roll over to now taking steps on her own. Angie is consistent, knowledgeable, and truly cares about the kids she works with. She’s well known and highly respected in the community, and she invests so much time and heart into every child. We’re so grateful for her and highly recommend her!

Choosing Angie as Mila’s physical therapist has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our daughter. We started working with her when Mila was just five months old, and from that very first session, we knew we had found someone truly special. Angie is not only extremely knowledgeable—she is a great problem solver. She always brought creative and effective strategies to help Mila’s progress. Thanks to her guidance and expertise, Mila has successfully hit her milestones, something we are eternally grateful for. Beyond her professional excellence, Angie is simply one of the most compassionate people we have met. Her genuine love for babies shines through in every interaction; she creates a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where Mila thrives. We have genuinely loved and enjoyed every minute of working with Angie. She has made a challenging journey into a positive experience. We can confidently say that our daughter, Mila, would not be where she is today if it wasn't for Angie. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her on their team.
